About this workshop

Squarespace is the leading tool for entrepreneurs, bloggers, photographers, restaurants, and small business owners looking to build a beautiful, user-friendly designed website. With this workshop you will learn the basics, from how to choose a template, customize the look and feel of your website, and layout your content. You will leave with beginning your very own website. We will also advise you in using the platform tools and translating your ideas into your website. From starting up a blog, to displaying images across your site, to launching your new online store, and how to track your analytics.


Develop a functional understanding of Squarespace as it compares to other CMS options (i.e. Wordpress, Weebly, Virb and Wix)
Explain the difference between domain hosting and web hosting
Create new user-friendly designed 2-3 page website
Create and update basic web pages with different layouts - We'll walk you through our two favorites to use during the buildout portion of the lecture.
Understand fundamentals of Squarespace's SEO settings and how to optimize your site
Learn about additional tools to help grow your business

Prerequisites & Preprations

You will need to bring a laptop.
Prepared written/visual content (i.e. text or photos) in advance for your website is recommended but not required.
